About Gilco Safety
For more than five years, I have continued that mission as a federal Occupational Safety professional, serving as an Occupational Safety Manager at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey and now at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. Throughout my career, I have worked alongside military members, civilian employees, and industry professionals to identify hazards, reduce risk, and strengthen workplace safety programs.
I have also experienced the challenges of running a small business, giving me an appreciation for the balance between maintaining compliance, protecting employees, and operating efficiently.
At Gilco Safety & Training, I believe safety training should do more than satisfy a requirement. It should give employees the knowledge and confidence to recognize hazards, make sound decisions, and protect themselves and those around them. Every class is built around practical instruction, real-world examples, and active participation because people learn best by understanding not only what the standard requires, but why it matters.
Our mission is simple: help organizations build safer workplaces through quality education, because everyone deserves to return home to their family at the end of the day.

For me, workplace safety has always been about people.
My career has been built on two passions: educating others and helping people return home safely at the end of every workday. Before entering the safety profession full time, I spent more than a decade as a K-12 classroom teacher, where I learned that the best instruction is practical, engaging, and built on real-world experience. Those same principles guide every Gilco Safety & Training course today.
I proudly served 23 years in the United States Air Force as both an active-duty Airman and Air Force Reservist, retiring from military service in 2017. The majority of my Reserve career was spent as an Occupational Safety Specialist, where I developed a passion for building safer workplaces through education, hazard recognition, and risk management.
